-Gene Expression Profile in intestine regeneration of H. glaberrima with microarray technology.
-Holothuria Glaberrima EST's Database from cDNA library of regenerated tissues from sea cucumber.
-Fibrinogen Related Protein (FReP) in the echinoderm (H. glaberrima).
-The new Microarray technology offers a environment to compare several (thousands) of genes, even whole genomes) in a single experiment. Although the techniques are expensive, they can offer high quality results in a cost-efficient manner. Mi project involves the use of this technique to studty the gene expression profiles of genes involved in intestinal regeneration of the intestine of sea cucumbers. For this porpouse I designed a custom microarrays using the Agilent platform 8 x 15k (8 arrays with 15,000 genes each array in a single slide) to compare different satges of regeneration.
-Fibrinogen Related Proteins are a big family of proteins that shown specific amino acid sequence domains. These proteins (fibrinogen) have a role in blood clothing in vertebrates. Using bioinformatics we found a possible fibrinogen precursor (with it's secondary and tertiery (3-D) structure prediction and phylogenetics analysis that confirms the relation with FRePs proteins family).
-ESTAP (EST Analisys Pipline), a specialized database for EST's is in developing process for the analisys of ESTs generated from the cDNA library of regenerated and non-regenerated tissues of sea cucumbrer.
